Introduction

King Kong is the game from the new movie where you swing around as an ape, shoot the once extinct creatures to smithereens and just try to survive in a place called Skull Island.

Graphics

The graphics are mediocre, but they should be better as it's on the Xbox 360.  The enemies look quite terrifying and real so they really play the part and create the atmosphere.

 The rest aren't good and the most appalling thing is the lip-sync as it doesn't even closely relate to what they say and all the stones and rocks look all pointy and out of shape which really lets the game down.  There can also be huge graphical glitches, which will probably get on your nerves quickly.

Sound

The sound is quite atmospheric and cool, plus the effects are nice and blend in nicely, but there's nothing special or state of the art.  There's not much music either and it's quite dull.

Gameplay

The game works well, the mechanics are good and there's a few puzzles like in most action games, but there's not much weapons to choose from and the puzzles are a bit samey, so not much to see and do.  There's not a main boss as such, but huge enemies and difficult parts do come along a few times, like a giant T-Rex.

In the game you get to be either Kong or Jack, Jack's chapters being samey whilst Kong's chapters being cinematic and action-packed.  Also the combat works very well and is enjoyable for anyone but if you like freedom you wont get it in this game as its very linear and just tells you what to do or give you huge hints on what to do next. 

If you liked the movie, then you might get a few kicks out of it and gamer points are extremely easy to collect so if you're finding it hard to get some, then rent this game as it will certainly give you a reputation boost.
