The Basics: A reinvention of the arcade classic Rampage franchise, Rampage: Total Destruction follows the return of everyone's monsters doing what they know best -- creating chaos. Touted as a "fresh take", fans and newcomers can take control of George, Lizze and Ralph to destroy virtually everything in their path.

The game will also feature a variety of upgrades that will power-up the characters during a single campaign. Of course, any diehard fan knows the ideal manner to enjoy metropolitan chaos is share that experience with a friend.

Oh, and did we mention it's only going to cost you $20. Did somebody say, bargain???

What we think? Man, I am all about playing a new edition of Rampage. I enjoyed it immensely during its prime in the arcades and found it to be more of a thrill when the previous Rampage installments made their way to consoles.

Although 3D development has definitely improved over the years, I can't help but be a little biased. Rampage: Total Destruction in my opinion would look so much cooler if the game sported a 2D or even a cel-shaded look. I am sure that won't affect my enjoyment either way.

It's a bit odd that this game is only in development for the PS2 and Cube (usually, it's the Cube getting the short end of the stick). In my opinion, skipping over the Xbox platform was a opportunity lost. Rampage + Xbox Live (and the potential to offer new stages via downloadable content) = MASSSIVE REPLAY VALUE.
